Пустотность делает кирпич легче, поэтому уменьшается давление стен на фундамент. Именно с этим связаны особенности применения пустотелого кирпича.
Изготовлен пустотелый кирпич из высококачественной глины, которая обжигается при температуре около 1000 °C.
Щелевой кирпич по сравнению с обычным имеет:
- Лучшую тепло- и звукоизоляцию;
- Более высокую прочность;
- Пожаростойкость (это связано с особенностями изготовления: «закаленная» при высокой температуре керамика отличается большей огнеустойчивостью)
